Shalena (she/they) grew up reading spooky books, playing basketball, participating in pageants, and obsessing over all things Lord of the Rings.

When she’s not working on spreadsheets as part of her day job, she reads, writes, makes booktube videos, and helps lead her local writing group.

Having lived with depression and anxiety most of her life, Shalena writes Young Adult novels about girls, sometimes supernatural ones, overcoming mental and emotional pain.

She currently lives in Tennessee with her husband and their fuzzy feline overlord, Ruby.
